For those who have been eagerly awaiting its arrival (cough… cough…) the new Giant Eagle Market District store had its grand opening in Solon, OH today! And man, was it was PACKED! There were so many free samples and goodies everywhere – I heard one lady joke about eating lunch for free with all of the delicious treats she tried!
I didn’t stay for long because it was almost too crowded — bad for a food blogger, but good for Market District! I did, however, manage to snap a few pictures to share with you all as a bit of a sneak-peek. Johnny and I plan on going back very soon so that we can do a more thorough, in-depth review of this sure-to-be new favorite store.
The Market District brand really goes above and beyond your normal grocery store and we’ve been big fans of the locations in Pittsburgh and Columbus, so hopefully this one will be well worth the (weekly? daily? ha!) hike from downtown. I won’t spoil a future post by telling you about what I saw today, so I’ll hush up and let the pictures speak for themselves for now!
Oh! And last but not least, I was lucky enough to attend a special meet-and-greet with Cleveland’s one and only Chef Michael Symon before touring the store. The meet-and-greet itself was… chaotic, but it was still kinda cool!
